Token.uz, a blockchain platform developed by UZINFOCOM, has officially registered its trademark with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
A record-breaking deal has been registered at the domain auction: the domain name hub.uz was sold for 17,893,500 UZS. The final price was determined through open bidding, where the value was shaped by real demand from participants.
2025 — a jubilee and strategic year The year 2025 became a landmark and historic stage in the development of the national .UZ domain zone. This year, the .UZ domain turned 30 years old, symbolizing three decades of sustainable development of Uzbekistan’s national Internet segment, its integration into the global network, and continuous technological modernization. The jubilee year coincided with a period of active digital transformation, implementation of blockchain technologies, artificial intelligence, large-scale transition to IPv6, DNSSEC automation, and expansion of international cooperation.
On 10 December 2025, the .UZ Domain Administration took part in the third meeting of the multistakeholder advisory council dedicated to assessing Uzbekistan’s internet landscape based on UNESCO’s Internet Universality Indicators (IUIs). The event was held at the Mercure Hotel in Tashkent and brought together representatives of government bodies, international organizations, expert communities, and industry participants.
For the purpose of optimizing the operation of the .UZ auction, a decision has been made to revise the current category structure. Now, auction lots will be presented in three key categories:
As part of the memorandum of cooperation between the administrators of the .UZ (UZINFOCOM) and .KZ (KazNIC) domain zones, a new root DNS server for the “.UZ” domain has begun operation, featuring both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses and located in Kazakhstan.
From October 25 to 30, 2025, Dublin (Ireland) will host the 84th Annual ICANN Meeting — ICANN84 Annual General Meeting.
On September 25–26, 2025, the Fourth Central Asia Peering and Interconnection Forum (CAPIF 4) was held in Almaty — one of the key events for the region’s internet industry. The forum was organized by RIPE NCC with the support of the Internet Association of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstan Association of Communication Operators.
The Administration of the national domain .UZ has introduced a new convenient feature for domain auction users. Now, anyone can submit a request to put a deleted domain name, assigned the status of “Auction,” up for bidding through a special online form. Previously, this required contacting the call center, but now the process has become as simple and fast as possible — all it takes is filling out the form on the website. Once the request is received, the Administration’s specialists review it and place the specified domain in the auction.
The Administration of the national domain .UZ is presenting the innovative Token.uz project within the framework of ICTWEEK UZBEKISTAN 2025, which is taking place in Tashkent.
